Lecture Description:

FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) are integrated circuits of digital technology and are used in many areas of digital electronics. FPGAs achieve their high flexibility by their changeable configuration, which is loaded into the FPGA by the so-called bitstream. High energetic cosmic radiation can change the state of a bit and disturb the function of a design. HTV investigated on behalf of a customer which bit errors in the configuration of an FPGA actually have a significant effect on the design.
