Dr. Harald Simmler
Ing. Buero Harald Simmler

Dr. Harald Simmler is a professional developer working in the field of FPGA design for almost 30 years.
His doctoral thesis shows the first approach to perform ‘Multitasking on FPGA-Processors’ in 2001.
Dr. Simmler worked in various FPGA application fields around the globe and gained experience in the fields of:
- Network processing (Ethernet, SONET, Infiniband)
- Network infrastructure (Microwave, Capture)
- Bioinformatics (Blast, Protein Structure Folding)
- Trigger Systems for High-Energy experiments at CERN
- Video Processing
- Radar System (Signal processing)
- Low Latency Processors (Financial Industry)
He published several papers in the FPGA field, attended conferences and is the author of the paper on FPGA Multitasking which was voted one of the most influential papers of the last 25 years in the FPGA community.
In 2023 Dr. Simmler started as the director of the Ing. Büro Dr. Harald Simmler that offers FPGA design service and HDL solutions for the FPGA community.
