After ten years in Germany as a Circuit Designer, Technology Transfer Scientist, Head of R&D and Consultant. Hans Dermot Doran moved to Switzerland to become CTO & Business Development of the first European Smart Home company.

After a spell as Business Unit Manager of a telemetry company he

took as a position as Senior Lecturer and then Professor at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur where he also runs a small applied research unit on the theme of High Integrity Systems.
