Lecture Description:

Increasing demand for cognitive computation (AI) expands into the edge, as IoT and handheld applications need to adapt to surrounding changes, requiring learning in real-time instead of going back to the cloud. The efficiency and reliability of these applications depends, e.g. on power, network availability. The ECSEL Project FRACTAL aims at creating a basic computing platform that can build a scalable Cognitive Edge node, ranging from Smart Low-Energy Computing to High-Performance Edge Nodes. PLC2 contributes to this research project by bringing in Versal ACAP technology and will report here on concepts and progress.
